8800GTS WC temps please

Just fitted my water block to my 8800GTS 640MB. Could some of you post your temps to see if I am in the right area.
Not overclocked. For now.
Mine are 40-42C idle and 48-54c load. From max temp under full load back to idle temp approx 15secs.
As a side note is all that gunk Nvidia put on the GPU necessary.

That sounds about right, the 8800 are very hot. Some people on air cooling hitting nearly 100c under load. Which my well set up air cooling. I get 52idle and 66 load. Which is very good for air(I lucked out and got a very good core I think).

A nice ek 8800gts block on mine running at 600/1000 at, 37c idle and 45c at load. :), and no its not, I put a grain of rice on my gpu compared to there slab of concrete.

I am using a Thermaltake CL-W0038.which is ok but I am not too keen on the clamp, and a Swiftech MC8800 SMC kit. For the memory.
I may change it in a while but if those temps are ok I will leave it for now. If it aint broke dont fix it and all that.:)

I think you may got lucky because it was not a heavy handed bricklayer that applied the TIM to your chip. I have never seen so much paste applied to a processor.

Yeah very lucky, the 250mm fan blowing directly over it doesn't do any damage either :P
