Performance problems - please advise if you can

    Hi

Six months ago I ran a 3DMark06 test against my system and scored 9251.

    SM2.0 score: 4123
    HDR/SM3.0 3946
    CPU Score: 2519

Two months ago, one of my two graphics cards burned out, and both were replaced.

I decided to check my system capability today and so ran 3DMark06 again. It scored a measely 4697

    SM2.0 score: 1866
    HDR/SM3.0 1736
    CPU Score: 2487

Both tests were performed with antivirus turned off & the minimum of services/programs etc. running.

Do any of you good people know what the cause of this drop in performance might be?

    Many thanks

    Globox

What cards are they ? Sounds initially like only one is recognised/running ? Do they both show in device manager for drivers etc ?

    Hi

I have a pair of 1GB GeForce 7950 GX2s so you can understand why I'm not happy (click 'My System' against my user profile and you will see my full spec)

Yes, all 4 GPUs are showing up in Device Manager

    Thanks

XP Professional. Your post makes no sense to me whatsoever, sorry.

Sorry, not so clear when i read it back !!
I had an N-Vidia GX2 untill recently and i had a problem (with Vista as the OS though) when i first installed the drivers where only one core was in use (driver issues) and indeed the card returned a score of about 4300 in 3D06. Device manager should show 2 cores when you open up the display section (4 i would presume with yours - 2x gx2 ?) and i fixed it with the beta drivers but as i say it was with Vista not XP. Sorry if it was'nt much help !
