Anyone know when the new samsung 24" 245T is out?

I've been saving up for one of these: http://www.samsung.com/common/micros...2007_it03.html
I think I have enough money saved, but I don't know if it's out yet.

I'm tempted by the idea of a 27" panel as well now, such as the 275T: http://www.samsung.com/Products/Moni...27HUBCBXAA.asp but I'm not sure how much they will cost in the UK, so if I can afford one yet and I do feel it may be perhaps too big. I mean most people still think 27" is big for a living room TV lol, I know my colleague at work is very proud of his 27" LCD TV.

27" is a bit small for a living room TV in my opinion, but then i have a 42"

The thing with monitors is you sit a lot closer to them than you do a TV, although, you also don't usually have to see the whole screen at the same time, you are usually looking a specific portion.

I hope these are out soom, brining more choice to the 24" market. I really want one, but they are still a bit on the pricey side for me. £400 would be good for a decent 24" screen.

I want one of these too.

The US MSRP is $799 - that converts to £400 !!!!!!!

I hope they don't rip us off in the UK. I don't mind paying an extra £100 but any more than that and I'll be well peeved!

They will be much more than £400 without a doubt. Samsung 24" monitors are very expensive, especially when compared to Dells 24" offering. This one will be no different.

Of course it is going to be more than £400.

$799 is before tax, so add between 5 and 10% on that. So in the UK you'll have to add 17.5%.

To be honest i think you'll be lucky to find it for under £500-550

The SM244T is still priced at £740 at scan, so £550 is probably an opitmistic price.

Its gonna be more like $799 = £799

    i never checked that

You also have to take list vs street pricing into account.

A manufacturer can't specify a price in the UK like you can in the US, only 'suggest' one

Just noticed that Scan have the SM-245BW Black on thier product list.

It's listed as "Pre-Order Item. Awaiting ETA from Manufacturer". But there is a price of £387.74 Inc VAT listed against it.

looks like our estimate of >£400 or even as much as £799 was a litle ott

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=608174

Are there any reviews of this? I'll be choosing between the Dell 2407WFP and this in a couple of months. But considering the Samsung is £100 cheaper, it's not a tough choice at the moment.

Hi all, it appears the 245BW is the "budget" () 24" model with a TN panel and minimal inputs while the (still not to be found) 245T is the "superior" 24" model with a S-PVA panel and plentiful inputs. So, a price tag of >£400 is still to be expected for the 245T.

I'd love to get a 245BW now but they're still not released and not seen any solid reviews (bar the newegg.com customer feedback ones).

Anybody have any further news (sightings?) of the 245T?

dell have reduced the price of their 27incher, and that is looking good.

dell are also going to release the 2407wfp-HC tomorrow in Japan, should have reviews up soon, and so should be over here quite soon too. there may well be 'vanilla' 2407s going on sale for better prices soon.

btw check out www.pcbuyit.com (seems like a reputable dealer) for a 24inch screen.

Cheers for the info, what's special about the 2407wfp-HC then? I'm intrigued...but that may be all the intriguanol I took this evening.

Not too sure about the link you posted tho, shady looking, non monitor-selling outfit that happily dishes out info about previous customers? Does NOT sound good to me. You may "be a friend of Simon" the Loughborough student, but I'll think I'll shy away from his site thanks.

Sounds like the 245T is the one to shoot for then, if I can wait longer still for it to be released.

Price is a little bit too expensive for me. I'll go for 22'' one.
