Can I use either pci-e port on my mobo for my 8800gtx?

Here is a picture of the motherboard:

Would I be able to put my 8800gtx into the black pci-e port instead of the blue pci-e port?
Would it have any affect on performance or anything else?

    Thanks

    The manual says "2x PCI-E (Blue @ x16 mode, black @ x4 or x1 mode)"

Does that mean that if I put my 8800gtx in the black slot (the bottom one), it would only run at x4 and not x16?

    Thanks

I think your right in saying that, I read that as meaning its a 16x size slot, but only supports 4x PCIe so I imagine the blue one is the only 16 lane slot on the board.

You should use the x16 slot for your card as that is what the x16 slot is designed for.

GPUs handle so much data that they tend to need 16 I/O lines.
