Question Which one should I buy?

I am building a New Rig and thus I am considering buying a Graphics Card.

    Should I go for

    ATI X1650 512 MB - £45

    OR

    NVIDIA 8500GT SONIC EDITION 256 MB - £43

    Any input would be appreciated.

Are you sure you can't afford a more expensive card if you're an Oil Sheikh

I don't know much about graphics cards so others may disagree with me, IMO the Nvidia one.

lol... I ain't really an Oilsheikh ... lol.

Unfortunately, I haven't been at work for sometime cos of studies .. so my wallet is a bit dry. But, then again, I can't wait until my wallet is full.

What's your current card? I struggle to think either of those would be much of an upgrade over much more than an onboard solution.

At the moment, I got an Ancient Card - 6200 PCI. ( Not even PCI-Express)

The X1650 is faster, but the 8500 supports DX10. If you want good performance right now, go X1650, if you want future-proofness go 8500.
