Is the 2007wfp worth the extra ?
looking at a dell deal, the 207wfp is £35 extra and the 2007wfp is £117 extra
which one would you go for?

The 2007 is an UltraSharp monitor whilst the 207 isn't. Personally I think it's worth the extra, although if you're buying a monitor on its own from Dell it's currently only £3.23 more as the 2007 is on offer (link)
suppose the question is it worth the extra £83?
both have dvi, different panels though but have been managing fine on a 15in tft for years, the remaining £83 could go towards some walking boots I am also after!
How do you get to £83 difference?
£82 actually
£117 - £35
buying as part of a desktop upgrade for the old man
If the screen if for your Dad then I would say definately go for the 2007WFP as it's the thing he will notice and appreciate the most. But then what do I know...
sorry was not clear it is for me
not convinced the extra cash is worth it at present, however would like the hieight adjustmnet
There's a "panel lottery" with the 2007WFP so that put me off, but apparently (copied and pasted from another place, can't remember where, not my words!):
get the RevA02 or later, as the A00 has some banding issues when using the DVI, but even if you get the A00 Dell with replace it with the A02 free of charge, even free shipping both ways
well, have had a good read all over and decided to plum for the 2007wfp as it has height adjustment and a superior panel - will be able to knock the vat off as well so should cost me approx £100 for it, which i think is a good deal, used quidco too so a £15 saving overall.
my dad is getting the base unit and I am giving him the cash for the monitor, which will balance out at equivalent to him buying the base unit alone.
cheers for replies
you wont regret buying the 2007wfp best monitor i have ever bought
thats what i am hoping, I nearly caved in this morning and cancelled to reorder the e207wfp as it is so cheap in this example as part of a new dell system
but shall stick with the 2007wfp
slightly offtopic question - i ordered the system with 1 years warranty as it saves a lot of cash, am i losing the warranty on the monitor as well? i.e. 3years to 1 years with the base unit?
Right now the 2007wfp is on offer direct from dell, it is only £3 more expensive than the e207wfp.

Free delivery as well, can take a eek or 2 but well worth it. I bought mine direct 2 months ago and the offer price was £262, £20 more than this new one.
I'll recommand you to consider LG 226WTQ. 3000:1 , close price.
