    Running two monitors

So I got my 22" Dell LCD and am loving it, espcially in conjunction with my old CRT. Two screens is very nice. The problem is that the graphics card which I am using (FX5500 PCI ) has two d-sub outputs, which means I can use both screens.

Well, actually, the porblem is that the 2900xt has two DVI outputs. Now, I have a DVI cable for the LCD, but I don't have an adaptor for the d-sub on the CRT. Would it hurt performance, or cause issues if I was to put the FX5500 into my new PC, in order to be able to run both screens?

    Many thanks.

If you were using an nVidia card as your main card then I'd say go to it and good luck, but I wouldn't be running the drivers from nVidia and AMD/ATi together on the same machine if I were you. Not for the sake of a less-than-£2 adapter.

You should get one with the new graphics card too.

Good point, on both counts. Yes, me being an idiot , I forgot that the CRT only had d-sub, so I didn't get an adaptor at the time of orderings. Stuff's here now anyway, just waiting on the stuff from ebuyer (case, psu and 2900xt). I hate free P&P.Gah.

Guess I'll get one from PCWorld, if I decide I need a better cooler for e4300 overclockings and go down there. Or order one. And do with out. Whatever. Gah.

    Edit:

Ah ha! Morality comes moralons, or morals. Or from my family, Moron(ey)s. Ireland is a major exporter of morality.
