    Replacement cooler for x1950XT

I have a x1950XT currently sat on my desk due to the fan noise driving me crazy. I was wondering what was the best replacement cooler for around £20. I'll probably be getting it from dabs or ebuyer as I want it delivered to work and Scan aren't so hot on alternative delivery addresses.

Are the Zalman ones still any good? There seems to be a lot more players these days since the last time I was shopping for a VGA cooler.

Dabs.com selection, ebuyer ones are hard to find, though there is the £30 Thermalright HR-03 ...

    Re: Replacement cooler for x1950XT

I think one of these http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=627848 and because the XT is known to run rather hot, attach a low RPM 120mm or 92mm fan on it - will still be almost silent!

    EDIT -

on a second look, they actually have these too! http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=627856

    Re: Replacement cooler for x1950XT

Oooo the AC-S1 is very cheap for what is it, very tempting. Finally got round to changing my address on my credit card so I should be able to order from Scan and deliver to work with that. Think it's first choice to the Accelero X2. I didn't manage to buy a car today so I think it's time to got shopping...

I actually have the powercolor 1950pro that comes factory fitted with the Accelero X2 (It's very quiet and happy with my purchase). I wanted to buy the 1950XT model, but it was out of stock everywhere (and now no-longer listed anywhere). I was reading around trying to find somewhere to buy it and I read somewhere (although I can't find it now) that they have stopped distributing the 1950XT with the Accelero X2 factory fitted because of overheating issues and many returns.

I was looking into the issue because I wanted the XT but with a silent cooler, but decided to save myself some money and just get the powercolor 1950pro (with the Accelero X2 factory fitted).

The alternative option that I looked into was getting a HIS or Sapphire 1950XT, and then putting the AC-S1 and cable tying a low RPM 120mm fan to it to give it suitable cooling for the extra power and heat of the XT.

From what I've read, I reccommend against getting the Accelero X2 due to it's cooling being designed for the X1800 and X1900 and the X1950XT running much hotter.

you can just zip tie your own 120mm fan to the S1, very effective cooling power at a low price
