    Spec me a monitor pls:D

Guy i think i need a better monitor, and was wondering if some of you who have better experience with monitors and what to look and what not to look for.
Here is some information that may help you choose the right one for me

Uses:Gaming, Watching videos mainly, do surf the net too

Size:Greater than or equal to 20"

    Viewing Angle:Mainly straight on

    Price Range: Less than 300

I tried using TfTselector but i dont think it has been updated very well with newer monitors.

    Thanks Guys

The best 22" panels are currently considered to be:

    - LG L226WTQ ~ £204.44

    - HP W2207 ~ £229.97

    - Samsung SM-226BW ~ £246.74

I recommend the LG because I own one and it's the dog's but you won't be disappointed with any of the above.

    deciding between the:

    22" LG L226WTQ
    and
    22" Samsung SM-226BW

Both are near identical in specs. Need to check the manufacturers dead pixel policy, brb!

Just reading that sasung offer a 14 day zero pixel policy! Meaning if i find a single pixel dead from 14 days since i bought it they will exchange!

    Checking LG now

EDIT:That zero dead pixel policy only available in South Korea. Sounds like all the abd ones they recieve they will ship to countried like the UK where the policy dont apply:S
EDIT2:Found out that for Samsung and LG its 4 Black, 4 White or 9 Sub pixels

Wouldn't worry about dead pixels too much. They're much less of an issue now, and frankly, on screens of 20" and larger, they'll struggle to annoy you. I've still got 2 dead corn-flies in my monitor, and they don't even bug me... (sorry, couldn't help it).

With the Samsung there's what everyone's calling a 'panel lottery'.

Basically there's three different panels that can come with a Samsung 226BW:

    - S ~ supposedly has 'truer colours' and is regarded as the best panel

    - A ~ not quite as good as the S panel but still very nice

    - C ~ tends to have a blue tint and ghosting issues but certain setting adjustments should sort most of this out

You'll most likely get a C panel and personally I couldn't be doing with taking the risk which is why I picked up the LG and boy am I glad I did!

    INTERESTING!!!
Well that certainly changed my mind!
Think ill go with the LG then. I have read that people got their screens changed with only 1 dead pixel on them as soon as it arrived which is encouragin incase im in the same situation!

I owned an LG 226WTQ myself briefly but the colours weren't a patch on my Dell and there was pretty terrible backlight bleeding on the one I got.

However, response time and general gaming were excellent on it. I'd recommend it for the money.

I heard all of the 226BW range are now Rev S.

I have just got one, but it's not arrived yet. So will let you know on that front.
