    Talking Please Help me Decide?

Hey Guys, I have a BIG Problem in Which Graphic Card to get? Here is the List I am looking at. I am ONLY looking at Nvidia Graphic Cards.

    GeForce 8800 GTX
    GeForce 8800 GTS (640 MB & 320 MB)
    GeForce 8600 GTS
    GeForce 8600 GT

Just to give you bakcground on the usage of this graphic card. This card is going into my new system that I am building of course. Money will be important when buying a graphic card. I don't plan to spend crazy money on graphic cards.

Me being the main user, I am not a Hardcore Gamer. I play games here and there mostly Need For Speed Titles or if I find something interesting, but again not a hardcore gamer. I will be using VISTA of course. I do Photoshop and the normal computer business. I want to have a REALLY Good Experience with VISTA.

So by looking at what I have said about me, What Card or Cards would you guys Recommend me to buy. Please help me out guys. Thx for all the help!

    P.S. Fusion

Screen size and resolution is fairly important when considering graphics cards but the best compromise for cost and performance is the 8800GTS 320mb as above.

It will play any game you want at the highest settings on anything less than a 24" screen and should be good for the next few years.

The ULTRA is a complete waste of money imo..overkill for anyones system.
The GTX is only worth it if you are desperate for great FPS on 24" screens and over..as the 640mb GTS does a pretty good job with these.

The lower end 8600's are ok for occasional gaming on the less demanding games but I wouldn't be expecting much from any dx10 games that will come out next year, and certainly not on big screens

I have a Dell 24" screen and the 640Mb GTS which will do FEAR - 1650*1080 at about 40/50 FPS with max detail on.

So any smaller screen will indeed be fine with the 320Mb. I guess this could all change though when we start seeing DX10 titles.

Thats the 64 million dollar question

ATM apart from the patched releases we dont really know what the hit will be on hardware with DX10. I suspect it will be the driver revisions which will be the deciding factor.

Mike is right, anything below 24 inch monitors then 320 /640 is fine. If you primary use is Photo/Video manipulation the 320mb will do the trick and if you have a monitor below that already stated.

I have played Need For Speed Most Wanted in 1024x768 Res, bceause my old LCD only supported 1024x768. I am planning to get the Dell or Samsung 22" LCD Display. You guys give me your opinion on the resolution stuff.

those monitors only do 1650 so youll be fine with a 640 GTS for gaming, the 320 will be fine or photo editing etc.

As Tinners. The GTS is a damn good card 320 or 640. If you have the money then the 640.

Hey Guys, just to share on what I have now on my system is the GeForce 6600LE that I just ordered for my old system. Before that I had the GeForce FX Series which just blew up last week, So I was stuck with ordering a new but cheap card. I ran Need For Speed Most Wanted on my FX and I was able to play no problem.

I just had a quick question. I have read that Nvidia plans to do a Refresh later this fall on the graphic cards, is this true? And if it is true, what are the Pros of waiting for those graphic cards. Please let me know about this topic.

    THX Guys!

If your gaming at that resolution then a 8800GTS 320mb card will do but I would get the BFG version though
