    Another Gfx card upgrade q

I cant find a thread that quite answers me question.
I have a Gf4 ti4200 64meg, will i notice much difference upgrading to maybe a 5600? Me budget is pretty much 150 squids. Anything that will greatly improve performance or is it ok as is?
    Cheers

Ti4200's are still pretty good graphics cards, but updagrding to a FX5600 you would see a difference but how much of a difference also depends on your current setup i.e. CPU speed etc.

I'm in the same position as you - I think the only major performance increases you will notice if you upgrade will be better performance using FSAA or Anisotropic filtering.

Yeah the 9600PRO and FX5600ultra only offer GF4TI4200 speeds. Their real benefits are in their DX9 ability and also tiny hits when using AA+AF esp high levels. 4200 is still cool, sell it on when a DX9 card comes out that is significantly faster than a 4200 as you'll still get a good price for your 4200.

I'm also in the same position. None of the mid range market (£125 - 200) really makes me think that I'm going to get that much of a boost for current games (Star wars gal. etc) over my GF4ti4200 so I'm waiting to buy a card 2 days before HL2/Doom3 come out.

Hmm, may have to see if an oportunity comes out before, then. What was that HL2 date? 30th Sept.... but its definitely definitely definitely not going to slip?
