Got my dell 27 lcd !!!!

Hi all i brought a refurb 27 dell from mcscom.

It arrived 2 days later and its gorgous. The only problem is the short 30 day warranty but in my experience lcds seem to devleop a fault early on.

It makes my old 24 lcd look small !! I've also found out its lovely for my eyes as im short sighted.

If anyone is worried about getting the dell 27 lcd, you won;t regret it.

... ahh, I had a thread on larger monitors and considered one of these. I understand that the panel wont support 1080p native (which is strange considering it has the resolution ) which was a bit of a deal breaker as I needed it to shift the xbox and future PS3 out of the front room. How does it perform with fast moving images etc? Do you game with it? Have you had any HD sources through it? Be interested to know boss. Cheers.

How come it doesnt support 1080p!?? Thats strange as you said, considering it can do 1920x1080, surely you can force it, if nothing else. I take it this is def HDCP through the DVI port? Its a shame it doesnt have a HDMI too.

Hi sorry there been busy playing games on it. IMO it seems to handle fast moving images fine but im not as sensitive to lag as some people are i guess.

I only use this lcd for PC games as i have a dedicated LCD tv for 360/PS3.

Very nice, I thinking about either this screen or the samsung 27" atm. Leaving a little toward the dell, but is the samsung were the same price (£700), I might favour the samsung for the dynamic contrast.

was your old 24" a Dell by any chance, been considering the 2407FPW & 2707FPW and wondered if the quality was equally good on the both of them?

agreed Mike, the usual stock photo's never show the scale of the real thing. I want to see a photo where someone is sat at it and you can see a game in action and how much desk space the thing takes up etc. The sort of pic that makes you drool at the screen saying "I need one of those in my life!"
