Graphics Card Probs. Please help!

hey guys,

basically my when i put my graphics card in, and trun on the computer, the monitor wont switch on. It wont switch on whether ive plugged it into the graphics card or even when I plug it into the default place to plug it in. Its fine when i take the card out....

Its an Nvidea FX 256MB. I had my hard drive reformatted, when my computer broke down a few months ago and have only just decided to try and work it now. I lost the CD that comes with it to try and install the software, tried d/l in from the site itself, but said it isnt compatible with any of my existing hardware.

ANY help would be greatly appreciated! Could have something to do with my BIOS settings? I havent changed any mysself, but I have virtually have no clue about any of this!
