Which is Better a GeForce 7900GTX 512mb or e-GeForce 8800GTS 640MB

Just a quick one, which is better as I've been out of the times with 3D card for a wile now...

Which card would you say is better....GeForce 7900GTX or e-GeForce 8800GTS


The 7900GTX was a higher spec ed card but a bit older now, but the 8800GTS is newer and higher sires and newer.

Please shed some light please, Thanks

The 7900gtx is still good in many games, BUT the 8800gts would eat it alive in many games and is DX10 and more future proof (if theres such a thing.)

If its a case of buying one or the other i would go for the 8800gts! Like daza said...future proof for DX10 games and a very fast card!

Just buy 8800GTS and if you didn't like it then you can swap it in for my 7900GTX at anytime with no extra costs

8800GTS is FAR SUPERIOR to any 79** series card.

Im not very good with this stuff but surely all the hype from the 8800GTS and GTX sure its an obvious answer on what card to get, unless your planing to pay less money for good value gaming?

Thanks All, got both cards but was debating which one to hang on to for my PC....
Just looked around and ever where is selling it for £250 but i got it for £200 from micro direct Enjoy the bargain if your looking to get a new 3D card !

8800GTS FTW - don't bother getting the 640MB version though...

Although the 640MB version would help if you like to run at high resolutions.
