    Not that I know of.

Games like COD 2 have options for using either DX7 or DX9.

Depends on the game you'll have to read up on the games you want to run.
Some games will have additional extentions you can add to the shortcut that will force it to run with older shaders (ie dx7)

Re: How to CHnage from DX9

If you are having trouble with games then check out tweakguides.com. They will show you how to set all of the individual game options for best performance on your machine. If you really have the time for it, it will also show you how to set up a CFG file (or something similar) so that you can change options not available on through the standard game options. This can be quite helpful, especially on multiplayer games where FPS really makes a difference. On Vista my FPS on COD2usualy runs less than 100 due to some driver issues however now that i have altered the CFG it runs at 180-250(capped)

Re: How to CHnage from DX9

I guess it only works for nVidia cards, but nHancer is a great little tool for simply changing individual game configs. It's much quicker and easier to use than going through nVidia's control panel's 3D page.

You can set a master set of parameters for AA, AF, Vsync etc. and then tailor it per game executable.

The thing it does really well is actually explain what all these (and many, many more parameters) actually do. And I'm sure there's a mention of DX7, but having never needed it I'm not sure what parameter it actually changes. It might do exactly what you're after.

I think it's well worth getting hold of for anyone with an nVidia card, it's just so much better than the control panel at controlling and setting levels of AA, SLI, etc. to get the most out of each game.

Re: How to CHnage from DX9

Lucky my card is nVidia then, so if i downlaod this program has a look threw it meaby there is a setting on there to force the games i play to always render in DX7 which would add a high boost of fps.
