    Protection film for LCD monitor

I have recently purchased a LCD monitor and it came with a protection film taped on it's screen probably to avoid it from being scratched. But for some reason I liked the glossy look of it and I want to do the same for my old monitor. Do these things comes in sheet or roll? As I searched the web I found some rub-on sticker type ones but I couldn't locate non sticker ones anywhere. It's a thin plastic film like thing just like the one you get from florist when you buy flowers but slightly thicker. So where should I look for it? Can someone give me a pointer? Cheers.

I don't know much about privacy covers but how do they work? Is it like poeple directly sitting in front of the monitor can see what's on screen but people trying to look from the other angle can't see what's on there?

If that's the case then I don't think I can use it because I will not be able to place the second monitor directly facing me because of the limited workspace I have on my dektop

WH Smiths - or other 'good' stationers sell a clear film on a roll - I use it for laminating maps (so you can draw track course lines, frequencies notes, etc using OHP perminent pens (which wont wip-off or smudge in use), and then wipe clean with meths.... this might be just the job for your application, and it is not expensive.
Try to make each and every day the best it can be.

Re: Protection film for LCD monitor

I don't know where to buy it but car dealers use a similar kind of material for putting prices on car windscreens temporarily. I wouldn't want it on my screen tho. My samsung has a lovely surface texture to the screen that I really like the look of anyway.

Watch out for the rolls of sticky lamainting stuff you get in places like WHS though.

You really want the equivalent of a PDA screen protector.... i.e. something that sticks via static and not via glue or whatever adhesive they use..

    Something similar to http://www.purplemoo.com/

And, obviously, you'll need to be careful about trapping air bubbles etc onto the screen.
