    HP 2207 22" Monitor?

Has anyone used the HP 2207? I was thinking of buying it, as I can get it for £180. Which I thought was cheap, seeing as the cost £229 nearly everywhere else. I like the look of this and the Samsung 226BW, but I dont really want the panel lottery that Samsung seems to be running.
    System Specs - OCZ Modstream 520W, P5B Deluxe, 4Gb OCZ 6400, E6600@ 3.6Ghz, Audigy sound card, XFX 8800GTS XXX 640mb graphics card.

I've seen them in Comet.. they are quite nice. Glass screens are a bit love/hate but if you like them then go for it.

If you can get yourself to a local comet have a look for yourself.

i would wait there is a flood of 22in tft coming in which mean they are going to be dropping in price over next month or so, and you don`t want to spend more than £150.00 for a 22in TN panel.

    Re: HP 2207 22" Monitor?

I have the screen and like it, but the reflections can be a bit annoying during times when the sun faces into the room, that and its viewing angles are a bit small. But apart from that its a solid monitor, colours seem good for the price and doesn't ghost like my old screen (at least not to my eyes).

    Re: HP 2207 22" Monitor?

I thought about this one too but the gloss put me off, cibox one I ended up ordering always seems to get good reviews (LG panel I think) was about 150 quid when i ordered it, now 146 inc vat at scan on today only (have to click from that section to get the right price. Have to admit its not as pretty as the HP, tis a bargain though.

*EDIT* oops missed you got the HP already! Sounds like you're pretty happy with it :-)

Been looking at the Cibox, so what's it like?
On Scan's site it has: 'Why risk cheaper un-known brands' but I've never heard of it!
I'd like to how bad the speakers are (internet radio, mainly) and what the running wattage is (can't find anything at all).

    Thanks,

    Peter.

Umm not sure which it is but there is a differnce,
Gloss = a layer a toughen Gloss surface plastic in front of the pannel
Glass = a layer of glass in front of the pannel
Both generally have a filter to improve the colour.

Glass is generally slightly more heavy and heat insluating (which can lead to problems) but is more scratch resistant and doesn't flex (the toughened plastic does felx slightly)

    Re: HP 2207 22" Monitor?

I saw this HP in PC World, image quality was great, but they had some Disney animation running on it and I noticed some distinct ghosting when the credits rolled, which wasn't a problem with Samsung's and LG's 22-in offerings.
