Nice read that Uriel. Pity that ATI/AMD gets a bit of a hit but catches up in the end on the higher resolutions.
So much for the lauded DX10 changes, not much to see was there.![]()
Space in my skull
Something fishy here though. They report very little difference between DX9 and DX10 but users are saying there's quite a difference in framerate. It will be interesting to see how this one pans out.
well unless you've seen that yourself . . .
Going by thoe pictures the water ripples looked exactly the same.
Also rebounding ripples sound like physics not shaders, shaders will infulence how light reflexs off the surface (or how they make it look like light reflecting off it)
From thoes screen shots the only differnces were transparency blending (when you realise that "smoke" textured particals and and fog are basically the same thing just on differnt scales)
Looks like dx9 should have a good bit of life left in it.
DX9 - splicers make 'waves' in the water
DX10 - splicers + player (when you look down/behind you) makes 'waves' in the water
I think anyway, i've only seen a youtube vid of it - will test when my pc stuffs comes in a few days.
Get it to run with a Geforce 2 and see what happen's ^^

10FPS extra for SLI at 2560x1600, damn laughable.

i really need to buy this game. the demo was class like but i've already got so many games i need to complete like
FWIW the game runs perfectly on my 7800GT at 1280*1024 with all settings at 'High'. I was very surprised since I was expecting the demo to completely kill my system (AMD 4000+, 2gb RAM) but since it didn't, I bought the game. Using the 1:1 mode on my 2407 gives a nice crisp bit of eye candy in the middle of a big black border, and is definitely better than letting the panel try to scale the image to fit the panel.
Actually I'm surprised by how well my 2407wpf scales. I've been running at 1440x900 and 1280x800 (both stretched) and it really doesn't look bad in this game. The main exception is when looking out of the windows when distortion is enabled and it's block'o'vision all the way (which I acually think is more to do with the effect they're using than the monitor).
Some of the other resolutions scale horribly though.
nice to hear its running good on your pc tbh. Got a similar setup myself with a x850xtpe and a 3700 san diego. Might be tempted to buy it. Just cant really justify 25£ for a game i will complete in a week
Rig: Amd 64 3700+ San Diego | Abit AT8 | 4x512 Corsair XMS3200C2PRO | PowerColour X850XTPE / Arctic Cooled | Samsung Spinpoint 250Gig | Enermax NoiseTake 485w | Arctic Freezer 64 Pro | Coolermaster Wavemaster Silver | Dell 2405FPW | Logitech G5 / Everglide Destrukt Monstermat |
Looking at the benchmarks, feel sorry for anyone who bougt a HD 2900 XT![]()
