Graphics card PCB temp 88.5c
Is that too hot?
I had Bioshock crash on me, so I ran systool in the background to see if anything was up. The GPU temp was max 67c, so seems fine, but the PCB gets much hotter at 88.5c according to systool. Should I be worried? The card is an X1900XTX 512mb and I've fitted it it with an accelero X2, although this is making me think I should buyt a zalman VF900cu and put that on it instead.
Also I see the GPU fan was only working up to 50%, maybe I need to tweak that so it will ramp up it's speed faster. I don't really want to as it seems quite noisy at 50%. It's alot nicer than the standard fan noise on the x1900, but still quite loud to my ears.

You should let the fan spin up more in games. just turn up the noise :D
88 degrees should be ok though tbh. I've heard of bioshock crashing a lot of pc's

What's the best way to increase the fan speed setting, ATItool or is it possible from the catalyst CC? I can't see the option in the CCC myself.

I don't use ATi at the moment so i don't know tbh. Riva Tuner works well with the nvidias or nvidia monitor (obviously not going to work)

take the side panel of your case while you're playing games and see if it's ok, how's your case cooling?

Well my case is a thermaltake tsunami with the standard fans, 1 120mm fan on the front, a 120mm on the back and an 80mm on the side. Should be fairly good. I've actually removed 2 IDE optical drives as well as all those bulky round IDE cables, so case cooling is better than ever, or should be. I've been thinking about maybe getting a dremel and adding an extra outlet fan to the roof of the case as well, to be ready for a quad core cpu, but that may be over the top.

so you just have the stock fans that came with it? those i assume wouldn't be the best.
also a top blow hole won't drop temp significantly, well atleast i didn't notice any difference in my temps when i added the fan to mine
