I can't think of anything cheaper which is as good..this is the cheapest I can find it...it's about £40 more at scan
Most of the cheap displays only go up to 22" atm. Plenty to choose from at that size though, and can get them for half the price with DVI.
I really want 24" widescreen as I will notice a considerable difference. I was loking at the dell 24" , but its out of my budget.
Would you actually see a difference between a TN and better display??

Hi,
If you're on a strict budget, it may be worth considering the Acer AL2416WB. This link is to the monitor at ebuyer, although a lot of other shops have got it for a similar price - £249.99
http://www.ebuyer.com/UK/product/130842/rb/0
The major downside is the lack of inputs - only has VGA, so if you were wanting to use it for Hi def videos then it won't be suitable (because of HDCP).
It's still got the full resolution you'd expect of 1920 x 1200 though.
I think it's getting on a bit, but reviews were favourable with regard to the picture quality at the time.
2407-HC
Save up more?
First post as i usually read for info.
I have the 2407 i paid about £450 for it 3 months ago, i bought it off a reseller on ebay who is a company had a website etc but it was more on there.
My company now buy dell corporate machines so i can see how these guys get them a lot cheaper than the retail. I for example can get the 3007 WFP for £600 through my dell acc manager.
Depends if you want to buy with Scan, OCUK or ebuyer or your willing to look else were.
Id have a look on ebay and find a decent seller.
On another note i have a friend who jsut bought the 22" samsung and its very nice so sure the 24" would be decent.
My 24" Samsung just arrived today and it's absolutely fantastic, I'm staggered by the size of it! Getting the Dell HC for my brother which should arrive on friday, so I'll let you know if there is any discernable difference.

It is, and thanks mate, 'tis a thing of beauty. Not sure why there is all this discussion about TN vs other panels. If you need the best possible monitor for professional photo work or something similar then fair enough, but otherwise....? There's a lot of talk about viewing angles, etc, but tbh I always sit in front of mine
