    PCI / PCI-E

    Hi

I have a computer that i need to replace the graphics card. The motherboard only has pci slots. I'm guessing PCI Express cards don't fit the Pci slot, so was just wondering if anybody knew where i could buy a pci graphics card

    Re: PCI / PCI-E

PCI-E is totally different to PCI. What are you wanting to do with the vga card? No gaming I take it?

This FX5200 is as good as it gets on PCI, but dont expect it to do much in the way of gaming: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=656814

Most of the 6200's on sale now are 64bit, which is terrible, The 5200 I linked to above is 128bit, which is probably the best he can hope for.

    Re: PCI / PCI-E

Forget doing any modern gaming with pci regardless of how good or new the graphics card is. If you want to do that a motherboard upgrade is the only way to go.

    Re: PCI / PCI-E

I'm a bit of a fan of budget gaming, so lets keep this into context for the poor chap

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Produ...oductID=656814
£31 buys you a 5200 card. It's not anywhere near great....but there is a HUGE back catalogue of games you can try playing

Find games that are not fully 3d and the sky is the limit.

    What do you like playing?
