    new to LCDs - question

I recently purchased a dell 2407wfp-hc, and am very happy with it.

however, during playing pes6, i notice something strange across the screen. theres a little distortion across the screen, and this distortion always starts at the bottom of the screen and sort of makes its way up the screen slowly, distorting the players and the markings of the football pitch (by distortion i only mean misalignment, the image is clear).

so, is this something i have to put up with or is it just something that i can change a setting on the monitor to fix.

oh, im running the game at 1920*1200@60hz. vsync is on.

Re: new to LCDs - question

Hmm we had a CRT that did that after we got back from a months holiday in Oz (we left all the heating off in the house so it got pretty cold, was winter in UK). But never heard of it happening to a TFT. Afraid I can't help but hope someone can.

edit: But possibly it's a connection in your case? Try wiggling the cable around at back of monitor and graphics card, or making sure they're in properly, and check all the pins are straight and going where they're meant to be ^^.

Re: new to LCDs - question

possibly a refresh rate or resolution issue? check the recommended rate for ur dell and the game settings.
does it happen just with ur new TFT, and what were u using before?
also are other games and normal windows ok or do thay have problems too?
oh and try with vsync off?

Re: new to LCDs - question

thanks for all the suggestions. i am using DVI, i only notice this in PES6, desktop etc is perfect, watching dvds is perfect.

just thought i should find out, - will try with vsync off to see what happens.

i was using samsung 19inch tft before, and it didnt give me a problem - my gfx card should manage this resolution comfortably with 16x16x af/aa with this game as its not the most taxing graphically.
