budget x1950's
i keep seeing very very cheap x1950 pro's on the web, but i'm wondering if they are the full banana as it were.
from what i understand the x1950 should be 594 core and 1390 mem clocks.
all these seem different ( or give differing specs on the same page)
are these really x1950 GT's or are they some sort of weird melding of different sku's??

Re: budget x1950's
One thing to note with the OCUK (ignore the false picture) and Aria cards is that they have a ****e HSF that has no cooling on the cards RAM, maybe due to this they are slightly underclocked ?.
If you want to get an X1950 Pro then on the Aria site that have a Powercolor one that is around £85 that come pre-fitted with an Arctic Cooling HSF, so you get a branded card and a decent HSF so you can try and get a small overclock out of it :)

Re: budget x1950's
Last link is a pro, not GT.
You can get a sapphire GT from ebuyer for 75 quid.

Re: budget x1950's
From Ati web site here
Radeon X1950 PRO 575MHz 1.38 GHz
So thoes cards are running at stock x1950Pro speeds

Re: budget x1950's
if stock is 1.38ghz mem clock, the ones from ocuk and aria are running at 1.2ghz mem clock, which definatly isnt pro speeds.
also is the GT an ati part?? i cant find it on their web site

Re: budget x1950's
well there are details of a x1900GT I'm wondering if they are the same thing . . .
-
Re: budget x1950's
the x1900gt is just a slower pro part if I remember correctly just to fill the range up.

Re: budget x1950's
Basically, the range is as follows:
x1950XT > x1950Pro > x1950GT
As mentioned above, look for the best cooler and then overclock. Im not what if these cards have different memory or whether its just clocked lower, so that might be worth checking out. If they use the same memory then you should stand a good chance of overclocking to the next model ups speeds

Re: budget x1950's
Well looking at the ATi site
the x1900GT is listed as 575gpu and 1.2mem
And has been said not x1950gt or x1900pro listed
