    Exclamation AGP Aperture Size

    I saw a thread not long ago asking about AGB aperture size and saw this earlier today!! HOPE IT HELPS!

    sounds like they don't know either

    "Default settings:
    For most graphics cards, the BIOS default setting (usually 64MB) for the AGP Aperture Size should be used. If you are using a graphics card with a 128MB or more of memory installed a larger aperture size may need to be used."

    I have mine set to 2x the RAM on the GFX card...

    I always thought it was set to 1/2 your system RAM ... ?? No idea.

    Same here I always thought that 2x GFX memory was the "best" setting?

    I've always set it as twice the amount of the GFX card's RAM. Although I doubt it make much difference anyway.

    I find 64MB to be the best for my radeon 9700np
    And 128MB the best setting for my brothers & cousins GF4 ti4200.

    Less stuttering and also some games load a lot faster and run smoother with these settings.
    i.e.
    Neverwinter nights
    Rally sports challenge
    Gothic 2

    there was another thread in which i explained the resons why... it doesnt really make any differnce what its set at though............. but i expect we'll have another thread on this tomorrow
