Re: Another 22" LCD thread
Re: Another 22" LCD thread
Bought a LG L226WTQ which I had to return so had to look for a replacement. Looked at the DELL, HP and Samsung 22" models. The HP IMO was the best out of them all and much better than the LG I had. Unlike the offerings from DELL, LG and Samsung the HP has a good quality stand which is height adjustable. The screen can also rotate so can be used in landscape or portrait.
Would highly recommend the HP w2207. Very happy with mine.
£215 is the cheapest I have seen it online.

Re: Another 22" LCD thread
Check out the latest Samsung models. They even have a couple (2 or 3) 22" models with built in TV's with HDMI, DVI, the lot :)
I have a 226BW(S) which is super! :D
Re: Another 22" LCD thread
Went into John Lewis and bought the HPw2207, needed it for tomorrow for an event.
My FX5600 doesn't seem to do the 1680x1050 resolution over DVI with at the moment. Hoping the latest drivers will sort it out.
Re: Another 22" LCD thread
So, what's it like? Are there reflections from the glossy finish?
Bit disappointed to see that it has only 2 years' warranty.
Re: Another 22" LCD thread
the monitor looks impressive, but i haven't had time to set it up correctly yet.
i've now got my resolution at 1680x1050 but my desktop appears too big and i need to scroll veiw certain areas. Still need to calibrate colours properly too.
Re: Another 22" LCD thread
Download the latest version of HP My Display from HPs site and install. Run the Diagnostics. This will remove any old drivers and registry keys for the old monitor. Reboot. The w2207 should be detected and driver installed. In windows display settings select 1680 x 1050. in advanced tab under monitor check it says w2207 and 60hz. Should work fine then.

Re: Another 22" LCD thread
Turns out it is a known problem with some nvidia cards and this monitor.
At the moment I'm running it of vga instead, which is fine for the time being.
To be honest, anything is an improvement on my old 17" CRT
Re: Another 22" LCD thread
my parents still use a CRT too! I'm trying to persuade them otherwise however
