    LCD Died?

Well woke up this morning and started my computer up as you do only to find nothing on my screen. If i turn the LCD off and on again it quickly flickers some display like the password login screen for like a fraction of a second and back to blank screen. Changed over to my dads heap of ****e dell 19" thats hurting my eyes already. But it seems that my Acer 20" WS LCD has died only 2 years old if that.

    Re: LCD Died?

It's the inverter if I remember correctly, that's the bit that's died.
If it's still in warranty RMA it. (most monitors have 3year warranty)

Tip, I found my 19"crt gave me a headache, turning the refresh rate up to 75hz and my headaches went away.

    Re: LCD Died?

1 .Have you try the LCD with other computer?, there might be something wrong with your VGA card.

    2. Have to try to unplug LCD and computer, then leave it for several hours? Static and electric surge might make your screen and maybe VGA goes funny...
