Yes, and broken on widescreen lcd's.

I have to set a manual resolution and select GRT to get the screen to display within the confines of my 19" widescreen Daewoo. From what I've read its a common problem that they are due to fix in yet another release.

I've been using the non-WHQL'd version of this driver for a couple of days now. They give me quite bad flickering on shadows in MOH Airborne. I've not tried them on anyhting else as yet.

In my limited experience....yes. When I get home, I'll be rolling straight back to the last official release 158.xx.

Re: nVidia WHQL-d drivers for Vista 32/x64 out

That's too extreme - 158 was tooooooooo far back (and had their own issues). You just need to adjust your mindset - if you wish to play a certain game, then install the a certain driver. For every game.

    Tis the nVidia way.

    I miss ATI

Seriously, you mileage may vary - you need to try them for yourself as every system is different (except the ones wot are de same).

Yeah, theyre pretty old now, but all the latest official and beta drivers give me flickering textures in MOH Airborne as well as restarts in COH and WIC.

I just think, that 158 works without giving me any annoyances - even though they probably dont give me the best performance in games such as Bioshock. Theyre the best all round driver for the games I play.

Still, depends on your hardware config as to what issues you get i suppose

Re: nVidia WHQL-d drivers for Vista 32/x64 out

Problem I have is stuff being 'missing' (like shadows in GRAW2) - you can be quite unaware of the problem (as you've not seen the game on another system) until it's 'fixed' in a new driver release. Sadly the problems aren't limited to flickering and tearing which is much more obvious..

The issues I had in Bioshock before the previous driver release were just too much.....having your crosshair move an inch or 2 - instead of 1 pixel - was a little too much for me.

GTO in particular has problem with this driver set and previous 163.67 driver. Actually they set wrong 3d clocks for the card and blindly overclocks it by 50mhz S: I had no problem with 163.44 beta though.

nvidiia drivers.......my collecting of various beta/official drivers started when I got my 6800, my nvidia graphics official/beta folder sits @ 3.28GB, the 163.67 helped tdu, 163.69 seem stable enough at present

Why keep all those drivers? Seems like waste when the back catalogue is available on the nv website.

Re: nVidia WHQL-d drivers for Vista 32/x64 out

Why is it a waste? I can access them at any time, and merely a matter of popping them onto my external 2.5 if I need to go and fix a family/friends rig. I also have a collection of ATI, Nvidia chipset, sound card a collection of all sorts of drivers, bagged, tagged and ready for when I need them, if ever

Re: nVidia WHQL-d drivers for Vista 32/x64 out

Just seems odd that you keep 3.28Gb worth of nvidia graphics drivers alone, including betas, nevermind all the ATI and chipset one you mentioned. Hard to see why you would need 90% of those graphics drivers really, especially betas, regardless of whos PC you repair. But hey its your drive, Im not having a go
