    Which TFT

I've got it down to these 2 but I can't choose. I will be playing games on them so that has affected my choice, someone got any personal expirence with these. I'll be buying 2 of whichever I decide on as well

The LG Flatron L1710B 17" TFT Monitor (MO-003-LG)

    Or the

    Hitachi CML174SXWB 17" TFT Monitor (Carbon) (MO-001-HI)

    Gah, stealing my question

The LG Flatron L1710B 17" seems to have the better contrast ratio...
Plus its stupidly thin from the looks of it

If you're bothered about their aesthetics, if they're purdy, then the LG1710B is the one to get.
The Hitachi one looks the same as mine and although is by no means ugly doesn't look nearly as good as the LG.

Recent LG models have 16ms response too. - available for £325 from technoworld.com

I'm tempted to go for this over the 181T, simply because of its well... Looks/preformance!
The 16ms sounds good to me

The one question im trying to find the answer to ATM is whether or not these TFT's are good at lower resolutions.....

The reason for this is because I play most games at 1024*768......

Also, what games have you been playing on the LG? How do they perform? Using a DVI connection?

yea they do - ive played splinter cell and max payne in 1024 fine. Its not as chrisp as 1240, but still works. *no* ghosting on any game ive ever played.

using DVI from matrox and Ati card. Cant tell the difference between it and VGA, but i prefer DVI instinctively

TFT's really prefer to be at their designated resolution......

When I got my 15" I fell for it cos its has tiny (ready tinny) speakers in, a headphone plug on the front and its got a 4port USB hub built in too....

so its ACE for carkting around to mates houses.......no speakers to carry, small screen, weighs nowt, headphone plug for LANning....

    puuurrrrfect

Took me a while to get used to the picture tho....they dont scroll the same as CRT's...cant explain..wait until you see it

12ms(rise) + 4ms(fall) = 16ms(total). That is why SnArLaX said there are no 12ms tft's, as the 12ms would be the rise response time, not the total. There are no tft's that I know of that are faster than 16ms (yet )
