Right the whine from the 9800's fan has got to go. Firstly if anyone knows the db rating of said fan, that would be really useful. Secondly, what can I replace it with? The space available means the fan must not make the card wider than the slot.
And obviously it needs to be nice and quiet! I'm not interested in overclocking the card, just running it at stock with minimum noise.

I'm in a similar situation with my GF4 Ti4400 using a Shuttle too.
Sapphire make a fanless solution 9800, don't they?

I don't know how well you know Shuttle SN85G4's but the AGP slot is on the outer edge of the board (i.e. the second slot), which means any cooling solution must fit within the slots' space. There are only 2 slots in total.Quote:

That looks ideal, but without knowing the current db output it's a bit of a stab in the dark :)
I have the iceburg mentionioned above on my AIW9800pro and I can't hear it over any of the fans in my case, and it's no bigger than the stock fan
