Please recommend me a TFT monitor arm/desk mount/riser/thing

I need to buy 9 TFT arms for 9 seperate 17" TFT monitors. I currently have two Kensington CRT stands and the TFTs on the these stands wobble like a wobbling thing.

I've seen the Kensington 60091 arm which looks ideal but is there anything better out there? It has to be an arm mounted on the desk and not a desk stand with holes for keyboards, speakers and pencils, I don't want to waste desk space with these things.

I'd ideally like to pay around £25/£30 max (exc) per arm and they have to be available within 10 days.

    So, what do you use?

I've got two of these beauties at home, £20 each.
    http://svp.co.uk/products-solo.php?pid=1080&prepg=1
Not super adjustable (only 3 height settings) but they have every feature you can think of including pan tilt and swivel, and clamp solidly on the edge of my thick desk. They'll hold monitors up to 10kg, ignore the panel size specifications as I've got a 22" widescreen on one of mine!

£5 off orders over £50 at SVP if you use Google checkout too.

The reviews are equally as praising.

Looks promising and is cheaper than my first choice too.

The monitors I need to mount (fnarr fnarr) are Dell E177FP with 100 x 100 mounts. I have no idea which part of the pair contains the fixings - the monitor or the arm?

    Any clues?

You get a set of fixing screws included with the arm. Most monitor stands have non-standard fittings even though the monitor has VESA mounting holes too.

Re: Please recommend me a TFT monitor arm/desk mount/riser/thing

Funny I should find this thread...

I have the same arm & can recommend it too. Very stable. However I was just about to post a similar thread starter, looking for a replacement for this arm. My problem is I need a longer arm which will allow me to extend the monitor out.

It's currently mounted on a bookshelf about two feet in front of the user & two & a half feet to the side. I need to be able to pull the monitor arm out away from the shelf so that the monitor is only a foot or so to the side of the user, iyswim? It needs to swing back when not in use, so that the monitor is parallel to the face of the shelves.

    Any suggestions?

Just for the record, I couldn't find an off the shelf solution anywhere that wasn't very expensive. In the end I used this arm, which I already had, & mounted it on a timber extension made from 2x3 & a few coach bolts. Even managed to add a cross piece to support the T20 speakers.

Heh, fantastic thread timing. i just bought 2 new 24" and was thinking about buying a pair of stands to free up some space for my speakers. These could be just the job, thanks for the tip boobyzero!

I would click you a thanks but for some reason I can only thank the post above mine.

Oh yes - I can only thank you in this thread. I didn't notice that before. Maybe it's something to do with the age of posts?
