multi monitors
Ive just ordered a new computer desk which will give me a lot more space, so i was debating on getting another monitor to use in a multi monitor setup. and was wanting to know what you guys use a multi setup for and is it worth the extra cash for a monitor
cheers

I use dual monitors for web site work I can have trhe browser open in on one screen and noteTab or flash open on the other. if you work with lots of word docs open, again one open on each monitor.....cut and past is much quicker
As far as i'm concerned it's a more efficient way for me to work. when I use single monitor set ups it all feels so cramped now

It's really great if you can justify/afford/have space for it.

I love my dual monitor setup :)

use 2 x 19" monitors too, means I am much more productive as said above, but being able to play games with IRC and HLSW open on the other screen is nice too. :)

im only thinking of picking up a 2nd hand monitor, so its not going to that expensive. id just like to know what types of things you guys use 2 monitors for and whether they are beneficial or not

I am going down the 2 monitor route soon. My new graphics card has support for 2 - Asus Radeon 9600xt - and I quite oftern have like 12 windows open at once. Again, sometimes I leave trillian logged in, but set 2 away, when I start playing MOHAA, and its the bane of my life when the window opens up - totally messing up the game for a minute. Solution. 2 monitors. It should let me watch TV/dvd's on one, while I program on the other.

I mainly use my dual monitor setup for browsing on one and can have iTunes and MSN, DUMeter etc. open on the other. Also good to see whos signing in/out while playing games!

various uses, ive got a tv as my 2nd monitor so i watch DvDs etc on it while im on the pc, looks better and means i can do 2 things at once ;) If not watching films i normally have irc on it permanently, makes life easier :) And some games (eg ms flight sim) support multi monitors and let you have diff cockpit views etc on each monitor. It really is useful. and as unrealrocks says its cool for havin msn/itunes on when you playin games. you can play and keep an eye on the rest of your PC :)
