my incoming 9600xt yipppee?

Having lived with my geforce4 mx (onboard ) for 7 months i have now decided to blow my student loan on a 9600xt (Ati built w/hl2 voucher for 126 quid including p&p.)
I have a few concerns tho as ive only installed one graphics card b4 and that was into a machine which had no svga in it previously.
I intend to format my harddrive b4 i install the new card (i also have a new souncard comin, a nice generic 5.1 optical out from the e-bay 13.75, yes thats what im thinkin lol) but ive heard about ati cards havin trouble with nforce2 motherboards, mine being a k7 ncr18 something or other (a fluffy bunny one with only stereo soundcard) so im a tad concerned.

bascially i need to no the basic does and don'ts.

oh yeah and i bought a set of creative inspire p580 5.1 speakers for 55 quid is that a good deal?

p.s. how noticable will the performance of the 9600xt be over my present card in games like call of duty.

Mate u will see a big improvement in image quality and performance, beleive me u wont be dissapointed

I went from a gf2 to a 9600pro and dont know why i didnt sooner!
