New Graphics Card
I have a X800GTO which i have found out doesn't run bioshock, so i was wondering if you guys can recommend a new card for around £100.
I've looked at this one, http://www.ebuyer.com/product/119203...roduct_reviews
is there any others that might be better than this though for the money?

Re: New Graphics Card
yeah the microdirect one looks to be a good price.

Re: New Graphics Card
The other one has more Ram though, does that make much difference?

Re: New Graphics Card
The extra RAM will only help out if the game uses large textures, given I think the latest reviews of Bioshock show the 320 8800GTS and 640 8800GTS roughly on par with each other in terms of performance, I don't think this is a game where it'll make a difference.

Re: New Graphics Card
if you are playing at a high resolution, then the extra ram helps quite a bit. However, if running at a lower resolution, it doesnt make much difference. If you have got a low res monitor atm but are thinking of upgrading to a higher res one soon, get the one with mroe RAM

Re: New Graphics Card
Thanks for all your replys so far.
Ok i might have settled on this because it has 512 Ram and i want to get 22inch widescreen soon, plus it comes with a quiet cooler already installed. And is £13 more expensive.

Was going to install my Zalman onto the cheaper one originally, but have looked around it seems that card is this http://www.triplex.com.tw/english/pr...50pro_pcie.htm
And from the looks of it, it might not fit my Zalman anyway. Plus it doesn't have temp censors.
Are all the 1950 pro card really long and do they take less power to run than my current x800GTO?
Don't want to shell out on a new PSU just yet.

Re: New Graphics Card
most are quiet and power requirements are not huge
you will struggle on a 22" with that gfx card it is a mid range card at best and will cope with gaming up to around 1280x1024 anything higher needs a better card and a 22" is about 1680x1050
