    EVGA Step-Up Program

I still have couple of weeks til the 90-day offer period ends, and I'm considering upgrading my stock GTS 320 for a GT.

Is it worth it, and what experiences have people had with EVGA, e.g. how long will I have to wait for the new graphics card to arrive?

    Thanks.

Sorry to jump in, but I am wondering the same things, I have about 80 days left on my 640mb GTS and am interested in the refresh of said card! Info would help us both .

    Re: EVGA Step-Up Program

Sorry I have to jump in as well, but in a few weeks, I'll have an 8800GT from eVGA, but if the revised GTS cards do well, I might wanna step up as well...

I think the main difference between the 8800GT and the new GTS will just be memory size. Both will run 112 streams and have similar clocks. I doubt you would want to step up to the new GTS from a GT unless you're using resolutions like 2560*1600 etc

    Re: EVGA Step-Up Program

Also remember with the step-up program that they give you the value you paid, and you pay the difference between that and their rather highly valued cards, which in my case meant to go from an 8800GTS ACS3 640MB to a stock GTX, was £165..... plus shipping...... ouch.

GSte, where does that leave you now? How much time do you have left on the step up program? What about the revamped GTS, seems like a straight forward swap on the step up program for you.

Hmm, step-up doesn't appear to offer the 8800GT. Bummer. Perhaps it's just another shafting for us Europeans.

// thinks it might have something to do with the fact that the GT costs less than the GTS, maybe you can try to email the site admin or support@evga.com to see if they are willing to do even swaps, just an idea

Apparently they still do the stepup, you just pay for shipping. I think it's cos the site is US based it doesn't appear. Have posted over there so will see if anyone has responded.

    Re: EVGA Step-Up Program

Its a bit pants really unless you live in the states, when I had my GTS 640 it would have cost me over £200 to upgrade my Standard GTS 640 to a GTX & thats without P&P costs. I certainly wouldn't buy an EVGA for the purpose of using the stepup.

    Re: EVGA Step-Up Program

European EVGA customers send step-up products to Germany. Still not cheap, but still not the US.

    Re: EVGA Step-Up Program

The Evga 8800GT's aren't even available in the shops yet, wait until they start shipping then check back on the EVGA site, usually takes a couple of weeks for them to update their step-up program.

    Re: EVGA Step-Up Program

It appears that they are now listed for stepup. Might just see how much it is and how long it might take.

Looks like it will be around £42.91 to step up, plus whatever it costs to ship my card to wherever EVGA's European HQ is, plus any duty customs scum decide to levy.

Thanks for the suggestion, but it expired in August. The step-up thing is a good idea, it just seems a bit costly in practice. Wonder what EVGA do with the cards they receive, use them for RMA replacements or something?

    Re: EVGA Step-Up Program

Since the step-up program only lasts 90 days, they're really giving nothing away. I bet you could buy an 8800GT and sell your GTS on Ebay and be less than £40 out of pocket.

    Re: EVGA Step-Up Program

I think you'll find the step up is aimed at thoes who absolutely have to have the latest card every 3 months
eg in GSte's case £165+postage is still cheaper than buying a new gtx
