doesn't mention anything about 8800gt apart from the filename which isn't hard evidence
However, it's a pretty good bet that it's the 8800GT, given that the 'net has been buzzing with rumours about the card AND link it to that date as well
We shall see Monday lunchtime!
You can tell the 8800GT is coming out, the price for an 8800GTS 640 is £206.80!! and that isn't even a today only special. It was nearer £230 last week.
Apparently, its due out at 3pm, but I dont know whether thats US or GMT times.
Im very tempted by one given their performance, but with the HD3800 coming out at the same price point in 17 days, Im gonna wait and see how they compare.
That's always the problem with the PC market, something better is always *just* around the corner....
Personally, I'd want to see how the 8800GT pairs up with the new nVidia SLI chipset due in a couple of weeks, because at that price point it does seem to be a viable alternative to the 8800GTX to have a pair of them but it might be that it relies on PCIe 2.0 to get that boost (something only the X38 provides thus far)
Tom's hardware has got a review up of the 8800GT and benchmarks for the Crysis demo. Unfortunately they don't include the 8800 640mb in the benchmarks.

Up for grabs on Amazon. Amazon.co.uk: nVidia Inno3D 8800GT 512MB Direct x 10 Graphics Card: Electronics & Photo
Wow that tom's hardware review has made my mind up, the 8800GT just blows everything else out the water in it's price range.
I wouldn't call a '4 to 6 weeks' time 'up for grabs', but thanks anyway
I'm told it's coming up on OCUK at 14:00, ten minutes to go!
any best on which is going to be the cheapest, scan or ocuk then? dunno if ebuyer are putting them up but they might be... will have to check them too

I'm gonna have to get it on Scan because I also want a cheap dual-core 939 CPU to replace my old one, and Scan have a faster one at a lower price than OcUK. Plus there's the free delivery .
oh im not considering actually GETTING one from ocuk, just think it will be interesting to see the different takes on the price right after launch
edit: its 2!
