Hi All
Was wondering if you lot could give me a hand by giving me some pointers when buying a new HD TFT monitor.
Its been a wile since i last got a new TFT and am now looking for one that will do HD.
Forgive the noobness but whats the easiest way when looking at TFT specs to see if it supports High Def?
What Rez supports HD?
What make and models do you recommend? :O_o1:
If you can help then I'm grateful for your posts...
Cheers

OK well the highest HD standard you can get is 1080p, i.e. 1,080 lines of (non-interlaced) vertical resolution. If you want a monitor that supports this then it's typically gonna be of 1920*1200 resolution. I'd recommend either:
Samsung SyncMaster 245B - the current PC Pro A-list 24" monitor.
OR
BenQ FP241W - the previous PC Pro A-list 24" monitor.
Personally, I think the second of the two is the better, but it's £100 more expensive. It does, however, come with a lot more connectivity - DVI, VGA, component, composite, S-Video & HDMI. I'm going to be buying the BenQ one sometime soon, unless something better comes along in that price range.
The other one to consider is the very nice Dell 2407WFP-HC.

Oh, and the Samsung is currently going for ~£320, whilst the BenQ one is more like ~£430.

I bought a Dell 2407WFP a couple of weeks ago...and it is stunning! So many inputs, great looking and great picture quality. I would highly recommend it!
