    Thermaltake HR-03 VS Zalman VF-900 CU (8800GT!)

Hey guys, given the new 8800gt appears to have the 7 series mounts, and that im getting fed up of waiting for a passive cooled 8800gt, im looking at buying one and attaching and after market cooler.

Ideally i need to get the pc as silent as possible, any ideas which are better? Or maybe there are others to consider!? Thermalright V1?

    Cheers!

sounds good by looking at the reviews! so 120mm fan > turbo kit?

turbo kit is like 2x 92mm, it only needs a bit of airflow, a low speed 120mm will be more than enough and quiet.

Re: Thermaltake HR-03 VS Zalman VF-900 CU (8800GT!)

HR03 will also do the job with a quiet 92mm fan you wont even know its there! My HR03 has my X1950XT idling at 40oC and less than 60oC under full load, and thats in my Silverstone Tremjin TJ08 (mATX, tiny case) which has quite restricted airflow especially for a cooler as big as the HR03, its basically taking up 3 expansion slots! Including the fan, so its almost touching the bottom of the case, I could mount it the other way up and then its more efficient in both cooling the GPU and space but it dumps the heat straight into my CPU cooler... not ideal!

This HR-03 GT looks interesting, it's lighter than the HR-03 which is always a bonus in my book.

Thermalright really should just sell their own GT + HSF bundle.
I highly suspect the HR-03 will perform better than the VF-900. Then again, it's also much bigger.

I emailed thremalright yesterday and they seemed to think the HR-03 GT version would be available over here from next month.
