Buy now or wait?
I've yet to decide upon a grphics card for my new PC, and I was looking for some advice.
Is it worth waiting a few weeks for the new 8800GTS to come out?
Will it be suitable for my system, or will I need something more?
I've decided upon:
Abit IP-35
4Gb GeIL PC6400 RAM,
Intel E6750 CPU,
not sure about the monitor, probably the 19" widescreen LG L194wt.
Comments welcome.

Re: Buy now or wait?
Its always worth waiting if you have no need for the item this very minute! The new ATI cards are out this week as well so they may be a possibility for you unless your set on NV.
As to the monitor 19" widescreen tend to have 1440*900 as their native resolution, it could be worth moving up to a 20" to get the next resolution up 1680*1050 with the minimal increase in desk space required but a much better resolution for doing most things :) Example of 20" LG monitor
Anyway just my thoughts

Re: Buy now or wait?
As the 8800gt are selling out so quickly,I would wait for a little as ATI are releasing new cards at the end of the week( Thursday)HD3870, if you can wait till Jan next year they are doing the HD3870x2, im sure NVidia will have newer cards too.

Re: Buy now or wait?
I'd like to get the new PC running before xmas- I've asked for some games (UT3 etc), and I'm not going to wait to play them!
Webby, interesting. I've been limiting myself to 19" to avoid going over budget, I'll have to see what I can stretch too.
What size ram should I be looking for?

Re: Buy now or wait?
Well I would definitely wait for the new ATI card to be released on Thursday, not sure when the new GTS is released but again if its in the next month probably worth waiting at least for reviews, you will still get the card before Christmas.

Re: Buy now or wait?
unless it's urgent wait a few weeks, stock hopefully will be in place and as everyone says the new ati cards (which are meant to undercut nvidia prices for same performance?) will be out.
mid range graphics should be alright for a 19" monitor, and i mean with all the effects on! maybe even crysis....

Re: Buy now or wait?
What i did was buy a decent budget card which would play all the games i wanted it too at the time, with the feeling that i had the money to upgrade when i needed too. Glad i did as the 6800gt i bough has lasted really well over the last 2 years, (for what i wanted anyway).
