There is already an OC+ extra memory + zalman fan version of the 3850 that looks quite good.
PowerColor ATI Radeon HD 3850 Pro Extreme Silent 512MB GDDR3 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI (PCI-Express) - Retail
Oooh, if that overclocks to 3870 levels then that's a bit of a bargain! These 3850s aren't far off of being X1900XT levels already, and only £30-40 more than a X1950Pro...
Play are advertising the 512meg version of the 3850 too:
Sapphire 512MB 3850
as well as a silent pipe version
Sapphire Silent Pipe 3850
They reckon they'll have stock on Wednesday (21/11)
It's be interesting to see if the heatsink holes line up with the x19xx series of ATI cards, if so we could use an Arctic Cooler. :)
Gecube HD 3850 Pro 512MB GDDR3 Overclocked Edition Dual DVI PCI-E Graphics Card - Ebuyer
ebuyer have got the 512 3850 on the site.. none in stock but £116? thats worth watching
Where Crossfire work, 2x 3850 is apparently comparable to one GTX. But the same page also note that where crossfire fail, it's slower than a single card.
Techreport also include the OC GT numbers. But if you look at most 3850 reviews, you should be able to find 3850 crossfire and GT/GTX numbers.
