It's probably a problem with NVidia drivers.
Assuming it's XP, the best bet is probably to boot into safe mode, uninstall the graphics card in device manager, reboot in normal and reinstall.
General Discussion is the wrong place to ask, though, so I've moved this to graphics Cards.
What where you doing when you got that error?
I had this occasionally with the 8800 drivers a few versions ago, the latest seem stable though.
airborne and crysis so far,
Have you tried Saracen's idea? It can work well sometimes that. Just uninstall all trace of your nVidia driver, and boot in safe mode and check it is all gone (or uninstall from safe mode to begin with). You can even get a little free program called "driver cleaner" to make sure it's all gone. Then just download the latest driver (again), so you have a fresh copy of it, and install it again, all fresh.
Hopefully that should work. If not, we can still figure it out.
