    Overclock 8800GT

I just finished putting in my graphics card woo. Should i overclock and if so is it as simple as i think it is?

    8800GT 512MB gainward
    2gb corsair ddr2 6400
    Asus p5K-e wifi
    Q6600 2.4ghz
    cpu temp 30 system 23 gpu 50

My card comes with expertool which has sliders to overclcok this sems too easy. Is it as easy as it looks and what do you think i should clock to.

    Re: Overclock 8800GT

Yes it is a simple as you think it is.

Increase slowly and surely would be my advice. So slide it up a bit ..100mhz maybe? Then run something like 3dmarks or a game to see if you get any problems.. blues screens or artifacts etc..

That said..if it's not sruggling with anything you're playing or won't improve it vastly then I wouldn't bother. I have an 8800GTS and its the most expensive thing in my pc which is why I havn't overclocked it lol ..i've blown up a 7900GTX (not by overclocking though) which makes me fear graphics cards lol

    Re: Overclock 8800GT

Heat & PSU are always my bigest worries on the graphics card front.

You might want to increase the fan speed on the 8800gt if you overclock it to keep them tmps sane.
