Re: "ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 - Fastest yet"...
Now, for that price it makes it rather tricky to decide between that and the 8800GTS..
I've got an SLi board at the moment, not crossfire, so I can always get another gts at a later date if I want more oomph, but obviously if I go for the x2, I get more power initially, but can't employ crossfireX if I want more later..
decisions, decisions...

You can always buy the latest graphics card if you want more oomph at a later date... ;)

Ebuyer have them at £275 (Gecube) and £280 (Sapphire) but again no stock atm but that may all change in the next couple of days after all they were only officially released today!
Aria have the Sapphire card for £280 as well and apparently will have stock on the 30th (Wednesday).

Plumped for one of these in the end: EVGA 8800GTS SSC 512MB
I've been an ATi Man for about 6 years, but I've been lured back to the green team lol

£269? Thats an amazing price!
Might get one of these later on in the year. A CPU upgrade is first though, probably a Phenom because i already have a compatible motherboard.
Re: "ATI Radeon HD 3870 X2 - Fastest yet"...
It's a very good price for the bracket it's competing in (pretty much top end). Might force the cost of nVidia's flagships down a bit too (unless the 9800 manage to be a lot faster). It's looking like a good year for GFX card :D

Bumpage.
Scan have the Powercolour 3870 X2 on preorder for just £259!
Computer hardware and software at amazing prices, available online from Scan Computers UK
I was tempted but I want either one of these special versions:
Powercolor cuts the Radeon HD 3870X2 size
GeCube Radeon HD 3870 X2 X-Turbo Dual (O.C Edition) :: Articles :: www.hardwarezone.com®
The Gecube one looks sweeeeeeet but its apparantly noisy.
There should be some kind of software available to turn the fan speeds down a bit right?
