    8800GTX Temps

I just changed the heatsink on my 8800GTX to the Thermalright one with the 6 heatpipes. I'm getting an idle temp of 50 C and load of 72 C does this sound about right? I have an Antec tricool 92mm fan on it on high.

The other thing is i think i heard a couple of the ramsinks fall off last night, the glue on the thermal pads is a bit rubbish. How important are the ramsinks anyway? I mean there really small and light they can't really do that much cooling anyway can they?

I guess I should glue them on, I have some thermal adhesive, but if i do that i won't be able to RMA the board anymore and it has a lifetime warranty so i don't really want to.

So no one else has a GTX with the Thermalright HR -03 Plus heatsink so I can check if my temps are ok?

    Re: 8800GTX Temps

What were your temps before you made the cooler swap? That is the most easiest way to determin how effective the replacement cooler is.

    Re: 8800GTX Temps

They were like 60- 65 idle 85 - 90 load. I took the card out yesterday and glued all the ram sinks on with thermal adhesive, screw the warranty I thought lol

    Re: 8800GTX Temps

So the replacement is giving a 10 - 20 degre temp improvement..... quite effective then and therefore well worth-while especially at the hot end.

That sounds okay to me (temps range.) I'm on a modified stock cooler and am waiting for a TT Duorb to come through.
