What sort of results would people expect from a system running a 9600XT? I know my CPU is not up to scratch and is possibly the bottleneck but I wouldn't have thought mine would be so low...

Considering I see people with 9500np getting well over 10000 in 3DMark2001SE I think mine is really crap. Or is my CPU really holding it back that much...? :confused:
I have a Gf4MX 400, an Asus A7N8X-X, 1700+ @ stock and got 7000 in 3dMark01 last night, so, yes, something is wrong.

I ran 3dmak03 the other day on a 9800pro and got under 2000. I then did a format re-installed xp and updated drivers, result was 5400. Might be other things slowing it down.

It's a fresh install of Windows 2000 and I got the latest builds and Catalyst 4.1 installed. I don't think there was anything running in the background coz SETI is on my other HDD (which I can't get connected to my new mobo...).
I'll muck about tonight, if I can tear myself away from my new fresh copy of LO:MAC that has just arrived... :D
LOMAC forgot you had just got that. Am currently waiting for my copy to turn up, was previously using a mates copy but hes back now :( A totally ace game, just takes ages to map all the controls to my x45. If you have access to a laser printer print the manual out and read it, you need to understand the manual to use the russian stuff effectively. Thers an updated version of the manual on the lomac website, its better than the one on the cd, or at least thats what I was told.

I only have a Saitek Cyborg Platinum so won't be able to map that much... And don't have a laser printer, only an inkjet so I'll save the ink and stick to american planes for the beginning... ;)Quote:

3dmark is of limited usefulness, of the mines bigger than yours variety, and the code is optimised for geforce, it is a relative reference but I wouldn't depend on it.
I think I may have figured it out... upon reading the Review of this card here I noticed how the 3DMark scores drop dramatically using AA and AF and I seem to remember mucking about with the settings for my new graphics card and changing these to see what it runs like.
I may actually be running 3DMark with 4xAA and 8xAF... Would that cause the drop in score? Gonna have to check it out later!
Yep = I was just going to say you are probably running 3D mark with AA and AF on
- turn it off (Application pref.) for 3D Mark.

I'll also have to see what LO:MAC is like with it on or off, see which is best/playable.
I take it you also had vsync off and you have installed latest drivers for your motherboard?
I read somewhere about vsync (or sync every frame) was not good, so I have made sure that everything has that off! :PQuote:

Just tried again without AA or AF and got 9971 in 3DMark01 which seems more respectable, but still quite low!
