8800gt fan control ?
Hi folks,
I don't know if this has been asked before ...but I can't seem to be able to get my fan temp control to work on my BFG 8800GT. I am using ntune at the moment. I can manually change it but I would prefer it to change on temp. increases/decreases. Should I ditch ntune and get rivatuner instead, also should I update to the latest forceware drivers? I've just been playing Halo2 with everything on high and my temp has been hitting 80 degrees. I am running Vista 32 and also XP.

Re: 8800gt fan control ?
I have an XFX 8800GT and had the same problem. Default is stuck at 29% fan speed.
I use rivatuner (follow one of the many available rivatuner guides) and with a bit of fiddling you can get the fan to dynamically change with core temp.
I have it go from 35% at 60degC to 60% at 80degC (with an incremental step at 70 too)
It's a bit of a pain to configure properly but works well once done.
Good luck!

I think it was this tutorial that was the biggest help for me.

Re: 8800gt fan control ?
Hi guys.
I have the same problem on my BFG 8800GTS but I can't install Rivatuner because Vista requires WHQL drivers. Do you know of a different program which can do the same?

Re: 8800gt fan control ?
I used Rivatuner on my Zotac 8800GT and upped the fan to 60% when playing games and when I finished I dropped it back down to 29%.
Not only that overclocked the card even more.
660/1800 to 702/1980.
worked a treat and Crysis became playable at 1280x800 very high (admittedly i dropped shadows to medium :embarrassed:)
