3 Way SLi beats Quad Fire

Let's look at the benches in common of Tri-fire.......[L=Quad-fire]http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3232&p=3[/L].......[L=3 way SLi]http://www.anandtech.com/video/showdoc.aspx?i=3183&p=3[/L]

    UT3....................................................112............114...................146
    Bioshock..............................................86.............92......................103
    COD4..................................................72..............93........................100
    Crysis..................................................26..............27.........................43

    1. Even with 4 GPUs, ATi's highest end product does not compete with the 3 highest NVIDIA GPUs.

    2. Only one of those benches (COD4) has AA on, and we all know how the current ATi products shader resolve AA sinks performance.

Hardly suprising really. The 8800ULTRA gives similar performance to the 3870X2.

Therefore 3x ULTRA's by rights should be better than 2x 3870X2

    Then there is the prices.

3 Ultras could run you as much as £1200 but could be £900.

    2 3870 X2's are around £500.

same response as mike really, not suprised. I dont see how they really class it as quad fire when really they put 2 gfx cards together to form one, it should just be crossfire as normal.

And, who cares about the extra 30fps when the resultd are over 100fps already O.o, 60 is the max really that youll see some difference if any

    What a suprise!

The completely unbiased Rollo, Nvidia user group member, reciever of lots of free Graphics cards from Nvidia points out that 3 Way SLI with 3 £400 GFx cards is faster that Quad Xrossfire with 2 £300 Gfx cards but fails to mention that quad crossfire is half the price
In fact, come to think of it, all I have seen the completely unbiadsd, reciever of free Nvidia products known to us as Rollo ever do is ATI bashing and claiming to be completely unbiased!

I thought they where only beta at the moment.

Anyway how about showing what the same price graphics cards will do in sli vs crossfire??? Oh I forgot he wont as nvidia will lose. |So what about being more generous?? 2* ultras vs 2*2870x2 ?? Nope nvidia still lose

It looks like after all this time ATI have gotten Nvidia running scared enough to brief all there supporters to run down the 3870x2.

So Nvidia are bringing out there own dual card but it looks like they havent learned from there first mistake the 7950x2. Definatly not for lan rigs
Fudzilla - Nvidia 9800GX2 is the heaviest card ever

Hope your ac is up to the job
