Monitor swap-out.....

Hi Guys,

I bought myself a nice Dell 2405fpw ( widescreen, 1920x1200 ) a couple of years ago from a yolly ole' chap who worked at Dell. He sold a lot of them to Hexus members on here at the time so I'm sure someone knows who I'm talking about!!

Anyway, the monitor is still going strong, but I'd like another 24" monitor to go with it. I don't want a differant model though, because of brightness differances etc.

So.... I only use it for PC gaming, surfing and office work etc. I don't need loads of inputs, 1xDVI is all I want ( on each monitor! ). But would like a nice crisp image with decent response! Height/tilt/rotate would be worth paying a little extra for though!

My budget is.... £700 for the pair, give or take a little!! ( figure I can sell the 2405 for ~ £150 - making the cost £550 ish )

What do you recomend?

Come on... no one? I'd like to buy them this week or next!

2407 ( non HC ) looks good but also hard to get hold of now. 2408 is too much money. 2407 HC is a waste and the non HC would be better suited to my needs anyway.

There are _loads_ to pick outside of the Dell ones though! OCuK value? Samsung Syncmasters, Hyundai? LG? Acer?

Please people.... even if you can only suggest which ones to avoid atleast it helps me narrow it down!!

I hear on the grapevine that the OcUK monitor has the same panel as the Dell, not sure how true this is though. Probably good value for money, since it's barely more expensive than a good 22incher. Has no height adjustment or other nice features you're used to from the Dell, so put some consideration into this. All you buy is a panel on a (wobbly) stand.
