    Resolution and refresh rate

Is it possible to set a default refresh rate regardless of resolution? I have a monitor that will handle 85Hz all the way up to 1600x1200, which is what I use for most things, but IL2 works best at 1024x768 and unfortunately, although it tweaks the res correctly, it also sets the refresh rate to 60Hz. Which is bad. Is there a way I can set the thing so it knows to push 85Hz regardless of the resolution it's displaying?

    Re: Resolution and refresh rate

You might have to overide the refresh rate in Direct3D to do this.

Load up Dxdiag - Start -> run -> 'dxdiag' and then let it load.

Go to more help and in here is a tab to overide the refresh rate and set this to 85.

I've had to do the same as 1024 x 768 on my monitor is typically horrible and bent all over at anything running anything less than 85 Hz. 75 Hz made the screen all warped and horrible.

    Hope this helps

    Re: Resolution and refresh rate

That would help, and I've done it anyway, but IL2 runs in OpenGL... is there a similar tool for that do you know?

EDIT: Found one called reforce.. it's a run once util that.. forces the refresh rate you specify... it even finds the fastest safe refresh rate for you monitor automatically
