Asus GeForce 9800 GTX detailed and pictured

Asus GeForce 9800 GTX detailed and pictured

Ten more days and those who don't have a 8800 card can finally think towards upgrading to a GeForce 9 series card as the 9800 GTX is on its way to stores. One manufacturer that surely won't miss the April release is Asus and its very own GeForce 9800 GTX is detailed just below. The card itself is named EN9800GTX/HTDP/512M and it features everything you're expecting including - PCI-Express 2.0, DirectX 10.0 and OpenGL 2.0 support, 512MB of GDDR3 memory and triple-SLI.

Set to have stock clocks, Asus' card has the GPU at 675 MHz, the 128 Stream Processors at 1688 MHz and the memory at 2200 MHz while a factory-overclocked 'TOP' model is likely also in the works but will arrive at a later date (later than April 1st).

Boasting a 256-bit memory interface, Asus' 9800 GTX is basically your stock everything card with the exception of a lovely sticker. The price tag of this GeForce 9800 GTX will be under $350.

i doubt the under $350 thing!
Asus are charging that for their 8800GTS' now!
    more like $400 minimum!
which will translate to about £250 over here.

Re: Asus GeForce 9800 GTX detailed and pictured

Based on this review I reckon the $350 price tag is about right since the 9800GTX doesn't perform that much better than a 8800GTS 512.

Re: Asus GeForce 9800 GTX detailed and pictured

bah the only difference too my card is about 10mhz higher shader and 200mhz higher memory(ofc an overclock fixed) and so what a great improvement, not. But if it is £175 (direct change) then that is good but with retailers needing their profits thats about £210 then there will be the extra tax which will bring it up too say £250 and then the lack of stock will bring it too ~£300, i guess anyways. Well at least this is better then the overpriced piece of junk called 9800GTX2

It's been seen on euro sites for ~275 euros so we could well see it below £250. That'd be good.

and if its not released yet its subject too change, right?. I thought you had to sign an agreement to not discuss any info about the product.
