Well I can only compare the two LCD's I've got experience of which are a 26" LG and 26" samsung.

Both are fantastic quality. Samsung has the best overall picture but the white's are best on the LG.. in fact it's like looking directly into the sun

I would probably buy the samsung though

I've seen a few probs mentioned elsewhere with the LG 65/66 series. Think trustedreviews said it was great with HD but poor with SD. Ah, here it is LG 37LF66 37in LCD TV - TrustedReviews

My brother in law has just bought one though, should see it in the next few days, I'll report back !

The Samsung seems to be met with pretty favourable reviews though.

Incidentally, I dunno if you've just used those sites for reference, but the LG can be had for a bit cheaper than Comet. It's £100 cheaper at Laskys, who are part of the same group (last I knew, anyway). You can get it for even less than that, but possibly not from a "big" retailer.
